Thursday’s night rivalry game between the Carroll County Panthers and the Trimble County Raiders came down to a nail-biting fourth quarter that resulted in a 72-66 win for the traveling Raiders.
The win was the first as head coach for Marcus Mumphrey, who after the game described the victory as bittersweet.
“I’m born and bred in Carrollton,” Mumphrey said. “Everything that I do comes from here. I respect the program and I love Carrollton. I’m a Raider now but my heart will always have a Panther touch to it.”
